That Medvedchuk advertises his pro-Russian views in order to provoke someone, to help someone in the presidential campaign, to distract someone from real problems. Well, he can not really think that!.

And in this perception of the worldview of Medvedchuk (or Novinsky, or Putin, or Medvedev, or Yanukovych, or Azarov) is our biggest mistake. We are sure that Medvedchuk is a technology, and he believes that technology is us.

Therefore, when Medvedchuk is once again reminded of his saying that Yushchenko will never become president of Ukraine, he hardly doubts the correctness of his forecast. After all, he was sure that Yushchenko can not count on the support of the majority of voters, and the administrative resource in power was greater. And then the technology of the US State Department interfered - and everything was lost.

The same State Department in 2014 prevented Ukraine from returning to an alliance with Russia, for which Medvedchuk agitated. We laughed when we saw in the subway his anti-European agitation, but as a result, then Yanukovych refused to sign an association agreement. And again - the State Department, the Maidan and the temporary defeat of the "real" Ukrainians.

And in the fact that Medvedchuk considers himself a "true" Ukrainian, I somehow do not doubt. Just for him, Ukrainians - this is the version of the Russian. As for Putin. Perhaps for Putin this is a worsened version, but for Medvedchuk - improved, but in the main they coincide! And they can be sure that most of the inhabitants of Little Russia-Novorossia are asleep and see how to "return to their native harbor". That's only the State Department and local opportunists do not give. But soon the Kremlin will beat them and Ukraine Medvedchuk will become a happy province of a great empire. How Belarus is Lukashenko and even better.

if Medvedchuk did not have these sincere beliefs in the artificiality of the Ukrainian statehood and our desire to become part of the civilized world if he were a cynic and an opportunist capable of concealing his beliefs until the right moment, Ukraine with its weak state institutions and the inclination of a large part of the population and the political elite to collaborate long ago would have lost, would long ago have become a province of the Kremlin.

The fact that Medvedchuk (or Novinsky, or Putin, or Medvedev, or Yanukovych, or Azarov) is sincere in his convictions or delusions - this is a real gift to all of us, patriots and supporters of the Ukrainian state.
