As reported by ZN. UA, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Alexander Pavlyuk commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The decree on the appointment was published on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

Prior to this appointment, Pavlyuk was Deputy Minister of Defense. The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed him from this position on February 10.

Pavlyuk took the post of Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces instead of Alexander Syrsky. The president appointed the latter commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 1991 to 2006, Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk rose from commander of a tank platoon of the 47th Guards Tank Division (from. Gillersleben, Germany) to deputy commander of the 30th separate mechanized brigade (city of Novograd-Volynsky).

In 2006-2007, Pavlyuk commanded the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in Kosovo. Then, until 2010, he served as chief of staff of the 30th separate mechanized brigade..

From 2010 to 2015, Pavlyuk was the commander of the 24th separate mechanized brigade (G. Yavorov, Lviv region). Since March 2014, he has actively participated in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
