The earthquake with magnitude, according to different data, from 8 to 8.2 points, was recorded at 23:49 local time (07:49 in Kiev). Epicenter was located 119 kilometers south-west of the village of Tres Picos (Mexico). The earthquake focus was located at a depth of 30-40 kilometers.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported a threat of destructive waves. It was followed by aftershock with a magnitude of 5.7 points.
After the earthquake off the coast of Mexico, 61 underground tremors with a maximum magnitude of 6.1 have been recorded, the National Seismological Service of the country.
According to the media, as a result of the most powerful earthquake in the history of the country for the last 30 years, 20 people have already died. This is reported by the TV channel "24".
