The press secretary of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region, Zoya Vovk, told the publication about the shooting incident that occurred in Cherkassy the day before. In one of the districts of the regional center, a man began shooting with a pneumatic weapon in the direction of children, allegedly because they had picked lilacs near a neighbor’s yard. " The police discovered the information while monitoring social networks and entered the information into a single record. The check has now begun. Previously, the conflict arose due to the fact that children were picking lilacs near a private household,” noted Vovk.

This outraged the Cherkasy resident so much that he first tried to catch up with the minors. When he failed, he ran home, took an air pistol and started shooting in the direction of the children.. Fortunately, there were no casualties, the regional police spokeswoman assured.

“Law enforcement officers are now establishing the identity of the offender.. A legal assessment of his actions will be provided after all the circumstances have been established,” added Zoya Vovk.

Meanwhile, local Telegram channels, citing the words of eyewitnesses, clarified: the incident occurred in the evening on Ivan Franko Street near Cherkasy National University.
