Striker Romelu Lukaku told the leadership of Everton that he would not sign a new contract.

On Tuesday evening, Romel Lukaku met with the leadership of Everton and informed them of his decision not to sign a new contract.

Negotiations between the parties were held for several months, and Belgian agent Mino Raiola repeatedly stated that Lukaku will sign his signature under a new contract that would make him the highest paid player in the history of the club.

However, after the match against West Brom, the striker suddenly announced that he did not think about signing a new contract.

As reported by Liverpool Echo, the matter is not at all in money, and Lukaku rejected Everton's offer with a salary of 140 thousand. Pounds a week because he wants to play next season in the Champions League.

The current contract Lukaku with Everton expires in the summer of 2019.
