Israel stops Operation Dawn against Islamic Jihad militants in the Gaza Strip - its goals have been achieved, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said during a meeting with the military.

“The goals of the operation have been achieved, there is no point in continuing it,” Lapid was quoted by the local “Channel 13” as saying..

Today, Lapid, together with Minister of Defense Benny Gantz, visited the Southern Command and control centers of the Israel Army. Officials talked with the military and learned about the operational situation in the region.

Also, with the mediation of Egypt, Israel and Palestine agreed on a truce, which will take effect from 20:00 on August 7.
