The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain recommended that the representatives of the mission return home and wait for further information. In addition, the agency recalled that the office of Catalonia in Brussels is under the tutelage of Madrid.
Noting that Madrid's decision to close the office became known several hours after the meeting of ex-head of the autonomy government Carles Puigdemona with the new speaker of the regional parliament Roger Torrente.
However, as it became known, the meeting was moved to another place.
As previously reported in URA-Inform, former Chairman of the Government of Catalonia Carles Puigdemon again nominated a candidate for the post of head of the region.
