The work of land transport, as well as the metro in Kiev on the night of December 19, will be extended on January 1 and 7. This was reported by the director of the department of culture of KSCA Diana Popova at a briefing on Monday, November 27.

In addition, the metropolitan administration does not intend to use fireworks during the celebrations. "Since 2014, the city government has refused to use fireworks, while the country is in war," - recalled Popova.

At the same time, during the celebration, many buildings of the capital will be highlighted by thematic colors, assure the administration.

Recall, the opening of the main Christmas tree in Kiev and Ukraine is scheduled for December 19. But in Kharkov, the New Year tree began to be mounted on November 15.

Also in the capital from November 29 until the end of January traffic in the city center will be restricted due to the holding of festive events.
