Minister of Education and Science Sergiy Shkarlet denied misinformation about compulsory full-time education, which is actively spreading in society.

“There is no order for exclusive offline mode. We clearly understand that not all schools will go to traditional education. We strive to do this as much as possible and create all the necessary conditions, however, the safety of participants in the educational process remains in the first place.. Not a single child will be expelled from school for the form of education chosen by the parents,"

The minister also noted that this year the preparation of each region, district and community for the start of a new school day will continue at least until August 18-20..

“It is not yet possible to predict the security situation. The educational process will be formed solely taking into account the security situation in each settlement,” Sergei Shkarlet noted..

According to him, a map of educational institutions and shelters is being formed, in which participants in the educational process will be located in the event of a threat, and routes to shelters are being worked out.. Educational institutions, whose shelters are not designed for all participants in the educational process, are offered a change of education.

In addition, Sergei Shkarlet once again emphasized that the right of parents to choose the mode of education of children.

“We encourage each school or community to create parallels in which online learning will take place. Thus, children will not be excluded from the educational process if parents are afraid of the offline regime,” the Minister said..

The Minister added that the opinions of parents regarding the format are divided. During the broadcast, he gave an example of a conversation with the mother of a child who believes that it is safer for schoolchildren to be at school, and during an air raid, together with the teacher, go to the storage. The woman is convinced that at home the child can get confused and not reach the store on their own.

Shkarlet noted that the organization of training in the traditional format remains relevant and necessary, but only in comfortable and safe conditions..
