The exhibition featured 28 works. The artist was evacuated from Irpin near Kiev, and paints what she herself felt.

“The first days of the war focused on explosions, the closer, the more dangerous. The more the earth trembles, the more motivation to take cover. Of course, nothing was drawn during the shelling,” says her husband, leading cardiac surgeon Alexander Bablyak..

The experience reminded of itself after the evacuation.

“Photos from the Internet lay down in emotions on paper one after another. Drawn partially with fingers, without the usual set of brushes left in the house. Some of the drawings are from our neighborhood, a lot of them are around Irpin,” he adds..

Irpin came under massive shelling from the first days of the war.

Entire families along the entire direction of the Zhytomyr highway on the outskirts of Kiev and the new Bucha-Irpin-Kyiv road were locked in the cages of their private houses, apartments and basements.

These small towns and villages have become and remain the main battlefield for Ukraine..
