Historical precedents for Putin's current aggression against Ukraine

I looked through Novaya Gazeta and came across an article about the Vietnam War. The journalist tried to see in it a precedent for Putin's aggression: they say that a great power attacked a small, but proud, and fighting for its independence Vietnam. I understand that the journalist wanted the best, but it turned out exactly according to Chernomyrdin: “We wanted the best, but it turned out as always”. It is impossible to imagine a more ridiculous example..

In fact, there is a precedent for our war, only Russian journalists do not dare to write about it. This precedent is Hitler's Anschluss of Austria! After all, Hitler, too, declared it not a war, but a special operation - the unification of nations. But, unlike Putin, Hitler prepared everything well, destroying in advance everyone who could resist the Nazis. But in fact, Putin exactly repeats the logic of Adolf Hitler. One to one. You can quote Hitler's speeches about the Anschluss - well, it is very reminiscent of Putin's nonsense.

As for the Vietnam War, in fact, everything is the other way around there.. This is indeed an imperialist war, only the role of imperialists was not the United States, but the Vietnamese communists.

We are all children of Soviet propaganda, and although it has been thirty years since the USSR and the CPSU perished, communist propaganda lives on and triumphs, and not only in Russia. Many still do not understand that the true imperialists were almost always hordes of barbarians.. And the communists put imperialism on stream, calling it a national liberation struggle. The famous Communist University of the Peoples of the East. Long will we remember him.

First, Stalin created and armed the army of Mao Zedong in the thirties, then, after World War II (WW2), he handed over to Mao all the weapons of the Kwantung Army, as well as Soviet pilots, tankers and artillerymen, and made it possible to crush Chiang Kai-shek. Note that this happened only because Chiang Kai-shek was abandoned by his ally - the United States. While Chiang Kai-shek was at war with Japan during WW2, he received weapons and everything else from the Americans. He received a lot, less than the USSR, but a lot. And after the war, when Mao's army with Soviet military experts attacked him, Truman left Chiang Kai-shek at the suggestion of his advisers, who, by the way, worked part-time for Stalin.

And having captured China, the communists decided to turn their attention to Vietnam. During WW2, small groups of Vietnamese radicals acted among the Chinese communists.. The Chinese armed them and threw them against the French.

The war was, of course, extremely confusing, since on the one hand the French were officially at war with the Vietnamese and Chinese communists, but the communists and socialists, who were part of the French government at that time, did everything possible so that the French forces in Vietnam were defeated. It was a time when Stalin was the uncrowned king of Europe, he had thousands of agents of influence at hand, and France in general was a reserve of Soviet agents. The French expeditionary force did not receive weapons, reinforcements, ammunition, in the country, as it were, " In addition, the French did not dare to wage a real civil war with the communists: Paris strictly forbade any attempts to present this war as out with communism - the communists were in government. And the communists were not afraid to cut out all those who disagree in the most cruel way. Stalin with his barrage detachments is a liberal ruler compared to the terror that the communists established. By the way, there is not a single book about this war in Russian, except for the only book by an American general about all the wars in Vietnam, accidentally published in Russia.. Everything else is fake.

Having secured the withdrawal of the French from North Vietnam from the French government, the communists turned their attention to South Vietnam. And began the operation to capture him. Of course, it was not the United States that attacked North Vietnam, but the North Vietnamese communists attacked South Vietnam. Tens of thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers crossed the border and attacked South Vietnam.

The Vietnam War became a model of political cowardice. The John F. Kennedy administration was forced to start attacking North Vietnam after the Viet Cong began to systematically attack US troops.. However, the United States never declared war on North Vietnam..

It seems to many heirs of Soviet propaganda that there is something similar here: Russia called its aggression a special operation, not a war, and the United States did not declare war on North Vietnam. There really is nothing to do here. Russia did not call its aggression a war only because, like Hitler, it wanted to get the Anschluss - a power association. And now he is afraid to admit that the Anschluss is impossible in principle. And US politicians from John F. Kennedy to Richard Nixon were afraid to call the Vietnam operation a war because they wanted to stop it with all their might..

If they called it a war, then the US would be obliged, as it was in Korea, to cross the border of North Vietnam and strike at North Vietnam, defeating it. But American politicians were most afraid of cornering the North Vietnamese communists.. They bombed them and persuaded them to stop the war - as Putin is now being persuaded. And the communists drove hundreds of thousands of soldiers to South Vietnam, and they wanted to spit on all the statements of the United States. All attempts by the population of North Vietnam to end the war were not only brutally suppressed. The communists wiped hundreds of thousands of people off the face of the earth, the population of North Vietnam was terribly afraid of the authorities, they were ready to die, but in silence.

Most importantly, the communists did not care how many millions of Vietnamese died. It doesn't matter at all. Only by killing the leadership of North Vietnam could one hope for an end to this war. But the US was not ready for a repeat of the Korean scenario.. And it all ended with the betrayal of South Vietnam by US politicians.

We know that communist rule in Cambodia cost two million Cambodians killed. Out of eight million, that is - A FOUR! This is in the absence of a real war. How many millions died in Vietnam is unknown. We learned about Cambodia only because Vietnam captured it and was interested in presenting the events in Cambodia as the arbitrariness of Chinese mercenaries.

That's the only reason we found out about those two million. Otherwise, there is no difference between the Cambodian communists and the Vietnamese. So, it is quite possible that in Vietnam the communists destroyed a FOURTH of the population.

I hope someday I will have the strength and time to tell the truth about this war in detail..

So there is no need to invoke the ghosts of the Vietnam War, as a precedent for the war of Russia against Ukraine. Let's get by with the Anschluss.
