Scientists from France conducted a study of the quality of hygienic lipstick and found that half of the prototypes contain toxic agents, according to Local.
It is noted that the study was conducted by order of the largest French consumer protection group Que Choisir.
The specialists tested 21 samples of lip balms from different companies, including large cosmetic brands. According to the results of the study, ten of them contained carcinogenic substances.
In other samples of hygienic lipstick, saturated hydrocarbons were found which, if ingested, can cause inflammation in the lymph nodes and liver.
