President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Shevchenko commented on the recognition of Andrea Malderi as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team.

According to Shevchenko, this is a historic decision for the national team, and even more so for a foreign specialist:.

" I want to greet you with my gratitude. Andrea - Italian with Ukrainian soul. Having worked for a long time with the national team, being an assistant to the head coach for five years, there is a great testimony to the work. Over the years he has progressed and worked as an assistant to Roberto De Zerbi at two top clubs.

He has ambitions, and he is very important. We have a strong background working with great coaches, achieving results and a good understanding of the specifics of the national team, and also having worked here.

Andrea himself formed the coaching staff. Our goal is traditionally the most ambitious - reaching the European Championship. Insurance contract for two years with an extension option, and a further share of the significant UAF. Reaching the Euro through the League of Nations is a challenge not only for the coaches, but also for the players.

We also want patients to be close to the whole of Ukraine. The first training camp will be held in Ukraine, and we plan to hold such initiatives more often, in addition to events for fans,” Shevchenko said.

The Italian fachivet, who today has 55 careers, previously worked as an assistant to Andriy Shevchenko from the national team of Ukraine from 2016 to 2021. Years ago, reaching the headquarters of Roberto De Zerbi near Brighton and Marseille.

Andrea Maldera replaced head coach Serhiy Rebrov, which deprived the Ukrainian national team of the 22nd quarter.

The Ukrainian team will play a friendly match against Poland on the 31st, and will play a friendly against Denmark on the 7th. In the spring, the team will compete in Division B of the National League, where their opponents will be Ugorshchina, Georgia and Northern Ireland.

Guess what, the Ukrainian Football Association has attended the warehouse of the national team of Ukraine for the first training camp.
