Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic became a free agent.

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Manchester United by mutual consent of the parties, the official website of the "Red Devils".

"Everyone in the club wants to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team and wish him success in the future," says the club's statement.

The 36-year-old Swede joined Manchester United before the start of the 2016/17 season as a free agent. In his debut season at Old Trafford, he played 46 games in all tournaments, which scored 28 goals and gave nine assists, and also won the Super Bowl, the League Cup and the Europa League.

Initially, United did not offer Ibrahimovic a new contract because of a serious injury to the Swede, but in August they entered into a new agreement until the summer of 2018. Nevertheless, in the current season he spent only seven matches in all tournaments in which he scored one goal.

It is expected that Zlatan will continue his career in Los Angeles Galaxy.
