Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed to raise payments to retirees in 2018. The order is published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers. The document specifies that the size of the pension will grow at the expense of so-called social subsidies, to which the government has allocated a little more than 7 billion rubles from the federal budget. However, the surcharge will be received by residents of only 13 regions: the Komi Republic and Yakutia; Kamchatsky, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories; Arkhangelsk, Magadan, Moscow, Murmansk and Sakhalin regions; Jewish Autonomous Region, Nenets Autonomous District and Chukotka. The Moscow region will receive the most money (about 1.

5 billion rubles), and the least - the Nenets Autonomous District (43 million rubles).

The disposal also says that the money will go to support non-working pensioners in order that their income reaches the subsistence minimum established at the place of residence. According to the government, the increase will be less than half a million citizens. The least that "lucky people" can count on is 2 thousand 351 rubles. The maximum amount of the surcharge will be 8,414 rubles.
