Ukraine rose to the 12th place in the ranking of steel producers

To date, the country is on the 12th place, as compared to July 2016 this year, steel production in Ukraine decreased by 12.9%. This is evidenced by the rating data of the World Association of Steelsteel Worldsteel.

Thus, according to the rating, in July last year Ukraine produced 2,078 million tons of steel, and in July this year the production was 1.810 million tons. In addition, in seven months of 2017, Ukraine produced 15% less steel than seven months in 2016. At the same time, in the overall rating for July results, Ukraine took the 14th place, and by results for seven months - 12th place.

The leaders of the month are China, which produced 74.021 million tons). It is followed by Japan - 8.588 million tons, and in third place India - 8.362 million tons. The US ranked only fourth in the ranking - 7.071 million tons. Further goes South Korea 6.159 million tons. Russia in the ranking on the sixth place with a production volume of 5.585 million tons.

According to the data for seven months, the rating is headed by China - 491.553 million tons, Japan - 60.913, India - 58.017, the USA - 47.748 and Russia - 40.925 million tons. In the sixth place, South Korea with a production volume of 40.868 million tons.



A total of 67 countries are listed in the rating, which together in July 2016 produced 134.798 million tons of steel, and in July 2017 - 143.245 million tons, thus increasing production by 6.3%. For seven months of 2016, the countries produced 933.976 million tons of steel, and for seven months in 2017 - 977.321 million tons. The volume of production increased by 4.6%.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the European Union plans to introduce duties of 19.4% on imports of steel from Ukraine.
