As Bloomberg reports, citing its sources, at a meeting with Zelensky, he suggested that the Ukrainian president go to Moscow and “agree” with Putin there. And, although the Office of the President of Ukraine denies this information, such a proposal is quite in Trump’s style and is fully consistent with his views on the world.
And without reference to “sources”, the 47th president spoke out himself. In response to a question asked whether he would give Ukraine a license to produce missiles for PATRIOT air defense systems, instead of answering this question, he said that the war would soon end, that since Zelensky and Putin want to end the war, they would soon agree on everything.
It has already been said many times that it is simply impossible to draw rational conclusions from what he says or writes in his tweets. What he throws into the information environment is divided into exactly two categories.
His “revelations” are either a stream of his consciousness (analyzing which, it is easy to come to the conclusion that his vision of the country, the world, the problems in the country and the world never changes at all, that the center of the world is “strong men” - himself, Putin and Xi, that the rest of the world is small and unworthy of attention countries that must obey their “strong men”, that in the country there is HE, the great, invincible and omnipotent, there are those who support him and the “foolcrats”.
Another category of his “revelations” are lies and disinformation, which he most likely intentionally spreads in order to mobilize his admirers, who believe in anything that comes from him.
Whether he actually told Zelensky to go to Moscow or not will not change anything. In his worldview, Ukraine was, is and will be an obstacle to his ability to “develop business projects” in Russia, from which, as Putin promises him, he, his family and his friends will earn $12 trillion. Well, and naturally, an obstacle to dividing the world into three with Putin and Xi. He will not have a different worldview. Adults do not radically change their views. Unless they do a lot of intellectual work on themselves. But this is definitely not about him.
There is also nothing new in his periodically repeated public statements that the war will soon end, that Zelensky and Putin will “soon agree”. Because he's thinking about the same $12 trillion. This is the main thing for him. And he is confident that he will receive these same $12 trillion as soon as the war is over.. That's why he wants it to end. The easiest thing for him is for Zelensky to go to Moscow and capitulate. Or capitulated in some other way. Then there will be $12 trillion and the “world order” that is in his head, according to which the “strong man” for Ukraine is Putin, and it must obey its “strong man”.

But all this has nothing to do with ending or stopping the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Wars end either as a result of the surrender of one of the belligerents, or as a result of the complete depletion of the resources of both belligerents. There are many examples of wars ending as a result of the surrender of one of the parties.. An example of a war that ended due to resource depletion is the Iran-Iraq War, which lasted 8 years (1980-1988) and ended because both sides exhausted resources to achieve their goals without achieving them.
There are many cases in history when wars did not formally end (that is, the warring parties did not make peace, neither of them capitulated to the other), but stopped, that is, a ceasefire was established. After this, peace negotiations could take place. And even after long negotiations, peace treaties could be concluded. Or there may have been no peace negotiations, but large-scale hostilities did not resume either.
Summits are not needed to establish a ceasefire. Even meetings at the ministerial level are not needed. You just need the mutual desire and agreement of the warring parties to stop the fighting on the front line.
A classic example is the ceasefire in the Yom Kippur War in the Middle East in October 1973.. Golda Meir did not need to meet with Anwar Sadat and Hafez al-Assad to reach a ceasefire agreement. And their ministers didn't need to meet. There was an intermediary - US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who was engaged in intensive shuttle diplomacy, flying from one country to another. The war was stopped, but not formally ended. After the war stopped, Israel and Egypt, through the mediation of Kissinger, continued negotiations. In 1975, through the mediation of Kissinger, they agreed on further mutual withdrawal of troops. And then they entered into direct contacts to conclude a peace treaty. When Anwar Sadat arrived in Jerusalem in 1977, the parameters of the peace treaty had already been largely agreed upon. And in 1978, the war between Israel and Egypt ended - the countries signed a peace treaty and established diplomatic relations. Negotiations for a peace treaty between Syria and Israel never took place because the Assad dynasty was not interested in real peace with Israel. But there has been no major war between the countries for almost 53 years..
There is no peace treaty between South Korea and North Korea. But there has been no major war for 73 years, after the Korean War was stopped.. By the way, in order to stop it, that is, to reach an agreement on a ceasefire, no summit meetings were held.
These examples speak to a simple historical fact. To stop the war, establish a ceasefire, no meetings of the heads of warring states are needed. In such cases, a ceasefire is established on the existing front line. Meetings of state leaders are needed to symbolize something - to sign a peace treaty, for example. At least in order to jointly declare that such an agreement is being prepared and will soon be signed (as was the case during Anwar Sadat’s visit to Jerusalem in 1977).
Even the Soviet-American nuclear arms limitation treaties were agreed not by state leaders, but by negotiators who met over a long period of time. The leaders then signed what was prepared.

What can you agree on with a terrorist empire if it declares that it is not against negotiations, but will continue to fight?. It's like negotiating with a maniac who said that he will continue to kill and rape, but does not mind his victims and the police talking to him at this time.

After the lost trade war in 2025, which Trump started but was forced to end and retreat to its original position, after the strategic failure in the war with Iran, the US position in relations with China not only does not look strong, but looks weak.
