The Czech Republic, which assumed the presidency of the EU Council on July 1, presented to the European Parliament at the plenary session in Strasbourg on Wednesday the priorities of its six-month program, among which it named the management of the Ukrainian refugee crisis and the restoration of Ukraine after the end of hostilities in the country.

“The Czech presidency has several tasks in the council. Agreement must be reached on identifying measures to counter the negative effects of the current crisis. Inflation, the energy crisis, the food crisis are threats that we must counter together as best we can,” said Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who presented the presidential programme..

The work of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU will be based on five priorities, including the management of the crisis of refugees from Ukraine and the reconstruction of the country after the end of hostilities in the country.

“The Czech Republic is convinced that the political and military support of Ukraine by the European Union is in the interests of all EU Member States in order to avoid consequences for the future of our continent. The Czech Presidency will support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, using all the tools available to the European Union,” Fiala said..

Another task will be to strengthen the defense capabilities of the European Union and the security of cyberspace.;
