The name of journalist Pavel Sheremet killed in Kiev will appear on the memorial of the Newseum in Washington, the museum said in a press release. It is noted that the name of Sheremet will be added to the memorial among the 14 names of the journalists who died in 2016 during the ceremony on June 5. The list also includes Sheremet's dead colleagues from Afghanistan, Brazil, India, Iraq, Libya, Mexico, Syria and Somalia. Taking into account the new surnames, the memorial of the museum will count the names of 2,285 dead journalists and media workers since 1837. Recall, Sheremet was killed on July 20, 2016 as a result of the explosion of his car in the center of Kiev. In the Prosecutor General's Office, the death of a journalist was called a murder.
