At 20:00 local time (21:00 in Kiev), polling stations were closed in Paris and several other major French cities. Most of the sites closed an hour earlier - at 19:00.

After the end of voting in the first round of the presidential elections in France, the results of exit polls will be made public.

In the meantime, the Belgian television channel RTBF released the survey data, according to which the independent candidate Emmanuel Macron and the leader of the right-populist "National Front" Marin Le Pen. According to the exit poll, they were able to enlist the support of 24% and 22% of voters respectively, according to "European Truth".

As reported, April 23 in France is the first round of presidential elections in the country. The polling stations opened at 8:00. They will work until 19:00, an hour more than during the previous elections, and in major cities - until 20:00.

Vote in the first round of the presidential election will be 45.67 million French in the country itself and 1.3 million beyond its borders.



The main candidates for the presidency of France have a support at the level of 20% a few days before the elections. Centrist Emmanuel Macron is leading the polls in the first round of French presidential elections, with support at 23%.
