Austrian Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strahe said that the European Union should think about lifting sanctions against Russia.

He said this after the US decision to impose sanctions on imports of steel and aluminum, reports Osterreich.

"It's time to stop sanctions and normalize political and economic relations with Russia," Strahe said..

Earlier, the US demanded that the EU countries toughen sanctions against Russia, whose policy is aimed at undermining Western democracies.

According to the publication, the US wants the EU countries to take concerted action against state and non-state subjects of the Russian Federation and adopt new anti-corruption measures at the national level.
