As stated on the site of the royal court, Queen Margrethe II's husband died in the 84th year of his life in the palace of Fredensborg. He died surrounded by his wife and two sons.
His Royal Highness Prince Henryk peacefully died in a dream around midnight, - reads the message.
Recall, in the early autumn of 2017 it became known that Prince Henrik suffers from dementia. Since 2016, he is retired.
As reported URA-Inform, in early August 2017, Prince Henrik expressed his dissatisfaction with the role played in public life as a monarch, and said that after death he does not want to be buried in Roskilde Cathedral next to his wife, Queen Margrethe II.
