The authorities are planning to allocate an additional 60 million euros to help their citizens in the purchase of housing and loans at a minimum interest. In addition, poor Tunisians will be guaranteed medical care at obviously low prices. Currently, the program covers about 20 percent of the country's population. The project of large-scale social assistance is under development.
Recall that due to the rapid increase in oil prices, as well as increased taxation, the population of Tunisia organized large-scale protests throughout the country the day before. The government of Tunisia sees the connection of protests with crime, while the opposition calls for a rally of discontent.
As reported in URA-Inform, oil prices around the world have reached a record price since 2015. They climbed five percent, reaching a mark of 69 dollars per barrel.
