The first to return home was a long-range radar detection and control aircraft A-50 at the dislocation airfield in the Ivanovo region. As reported by the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the pilots carried out a flight from the airfield Khmeimim after accomplishing tasks in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.
In the future, the personnel of the squadron of A-50 aircraft and the combat command group will fulfill their duties in the territory of Russia, - assured the Russian Defense Ministry.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Defense, today crews of long-range Tu-22M3 bombers from Syria returned to the Kaluga region, and a military police battalion arrived in Makhachkala.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, December 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the beginning of the withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria. 23 aircraft of various modifications, 2 Ka-52 helicopters, as well as a military contingent of the Russian military police detachment, a special-purpose detachment, a military field hospital, a detachment of the mine clearance center.
