She said that the Fund is concerned about the recent events in Ukraine that could delay the progress made in the creation of independent institutions to combat corruption. According to Lagarde's statement published on the IMF website, the fight against corruption is the main requirement of the Ukrainian society and is crucial for achieving lasting and equitable growth.

It is also part of the government's commitment to the program with the IMF, Lagarde said, adding that the Fund calls on the Ukrainian government and parliament to protect the independence of NABU and SAP.

We also urge the authorities to move quickly to the adoption of the relevant legislation in order to promptly implement an independent anti-corruption court in accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, which is necessary to reliably resolve cases of high-level corruption, "summed up the IMF leader.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, on Wednesday, December 6, the parliament registered a bill that establishes the right of the Verkhovna Rada to express mistrust of the leadership of anti-corruption bodies. The draft law is posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
