Ukraine signed two conventions on human rights

Petrenko held three working meetings with a number of European officials:.

- Christos Jakumopoulos, Head of the Directorate General for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe;.

- Chairman of the Department of Enforcement of the ECHR decisions Genevieve Mayer;.



- Head of the Information Society Department Patrick Pennings.

During the discussion Petrenko raised the issue of Russian relations to Ukrainian political prisoners. He also spoke about the "lime" sentence for the former deputy head of the Mejlis Ahmet Chiygoz.

The minister stressed that in the Crimea there are still repressions against the Crimean Tatar people.

As reported in "URA-Inform", Poroshenko called the case of Chiygoz another verdict for Russia.
