The direct subordinate of Colonel Maxim Shapovalov, who died today as a result of an auto explosion, directed the protection of ex-State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov. This UNN sources told the Ministry of Defense.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, Shapovalov knew about how the security of Voronenkov was carried out. At the same time, the interlocutor did not link the murder of Shapovalov with the murder of an ex-deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

In turn, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios said that the investigation into the death of Shapovalov was transferred to the military prosecutor's office. This decision was taken by Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko, the military prosecutor said on his Facebook page.

Recall Shapovalov was killed in a Mercedes explosion at the corner of the Solomenskaya and the Mechanization in the Solomensky district of Kiev on the morning of June 27.
