President Vladimir Zelensky expects that Ukrainian pilots will begin training on Swedish Gripen fighters this year. Zelensky said this during a meeting with the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf, Suspilne reports..

“We are grateful for the new program to strengthen the protection of our skies, regarding our future modern air fleet of Swedish-made aircraft, Gripen aircraft,” Zelensky said.
The head of state noted that Sweden is among the top five countries that support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainians.
" This is very great support for us, for our defense, for the stability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the president stated.
