More than 13,000 contractors exempted from tuition fees - who compensates funds to universities

On Friday, July 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated funds from the reserve fund of the state budget to compensate universities for students' debts for the second semester of study. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet.

We are talking about contract students registered in the territories of hostilities, as well as those who are or were in temporary occupation - there are now more than 13 thousand of them..

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, these students will be exempted from paying for the second semester of study, and the funds that universities were supposed to receive and spend, in particular on salaries for employees and utility bills, will be compensated by the state.

“In order to streamline the situation, the Ministry of Education and Science initiated the issue of compensation for the costs of higher education institutions related to the management of the Ministry.

So, in 2022, 86 million 814.4 thousand. hryvnias will be allocated to the Ministry of Education and Science for further transfer to higher education institutions,” said the Minister of Education.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education reported that teachers who left Ukraine after February 24 are returning to their jobs..

The current introductory campaign is taking place with some changes - instead of UPE, graduates take the National Multisubject Test.
