The citizen, on whose car the flag hung with a sickle and a hammer, was placed in a temporary detention center. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
The forbidden flag was noticed by passers-by. Seeing in the area "Zastava" car, "decorated" with the symbols of the communist regime, they called the police. The law-enforcers who left the scene detained the owner of the car.
Later, in relation to the man, a pre-trial investigation was initiated. His actions were preliminarily qualified under Art.. 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - distribution of communist symbols and propaganda of the communist regime.
Note that the flag depicted a red star, a sickle and a hammer. Inside the star - the inscription "Patriotic War".
