Over three years of annexation from Crimea almost 70 thousand young people left

Young and able-bodied Crimeans since the beginning of the annexation of the peninsula by Russia massively leave, according to the data of "Krymstat".

So, according to the population census, in 2013 (taking into account the 2001 data), there were 91,335 people in the Crimea aged 15-19 years. Young people aged 20 to 24 years at that time on the peninsula were 136 thousand 599 people. Another 173 thousand 162 Crimean belonged to the age category from 25 to 29 years. In 2013, more than a million people of working age lived in the Crimea - 1 million 151 thousand 733 people. At the same time, the number of pensioners did not reach the mark of 500 thousand people - 496 thousand 268 people over 60.

Already in 2014, young people under the age of 19 in the Crimea became less than almost nine thousand people - 82 thousand 920. Representatives of the age group from 20 to 24 years became significantly less - 110 thousand 942 people. The number of Crimeans at the age of 25 to 29 years decreased by almost 20 thousand - up to 153 thousand 949 people. The number of able-bodied population has also decreased - up to 1 million 60 thousand 549 people. The number of pensioners has increased by almost 12 thousand - 508 thousand 924 people.

In 2015 (taking into account the census data of the previous year), young people continued to leave the occupied peninsula, although less actively than in the previous year. Thus, the number of young people aged 15-19 in the Crimea declined to 82 thousand 754 people. People aged 20-24 years on the peninsula left 110 thousand 107 people. At the same time, people aged 25-29 years were slightly more - 154 thousand 82 people. The number of able-bodied population increased by only three thousand people - up to 1 million 63 thousand 158 people. At the same time, pensioners also became more - 511,577 people.



In 2016 the situation with the outflow of people from the young able-bodied age from the Crimea did not change significantly. Young people aged 15-19 years on the peninsula left 80 thousand 208 people; Young people aged 20 to 24 years - 102 thousand 979 people; Young professionals aged 25 to 29 years - 150 thousand 676 people. At the same time, the number of the able-bodied population fell by almost ten thousand - up to 1 million 54 thousand 878 people, while the number of pensioners was increased by another ten thousand - 521 thousand 488 people.
