The University of Southern California is working on wearable sensors that anticipate conflicts in married couples. The smartphone collects information from sensors and analyzes it, and then notifies about a possible conflict and its solutions. The project was tested in the laboratory, and the developers interviewed volunteers. Each of the participants answered questions and anonymously told about the problems, thanks to which the researchers collected a lot of information.

"We collect biological signals from sensors - this is a source of information that a person can not see with the naked eye," said study co-author Theodor Chaspari.

Sensors determined body temperature, pulse and sweating volume. In this case, the portable device recorded the conversations of participants, determined the content and number of conversations. Based on the obtained data, artificial intelligence could recognize the conflict situation with a probability of 86%.

"We have long collaborated with projects on psychology and family issues," said Adela Timmons, Project Leader. "We analyzed the information and connected the artificial intelligence to see if it is possible to determine the conflicts and the likelihood of their occurrence".

Developers also use the algorithm to find ways to prevent a quarrel 5 minutes before it starts. Theoretically, the necessary software can be ported to commercial portable electronics, but scientists consider this a difficult task.
