Researchers from the Harvard Medical Institute conducted a study, thanks to which it was possible to establish the fact that the amount of nicotine in cigarettes increases every year, according to the Internet publication for girls and women from 14 to 35 years old Pannochka. When analyzing the composition of cigarettes, it was determined that the amount of nicotine in them from 1999 to 2005 increased significantly. The increase in nicotine, which was determined in cigarettes, grew 1.6% annually, which for the period of seven years was about 11%.

Anti-smoking specialists were shocked by this finding: if the tobacco industry starts producing products with a lot of nicotine or a form that will be more accessible - all attempts to reduce the number of people suffering from the "tobacco pandemic" will go to naught.

The super-profits that companies that make tobacco produce are forced to surround them with a halo of secrecy. Without warning consumers about it, companies have raised the content of a substance that is addictive.

As manufacturers managed to increase the amount of nicotine - a mystery for the analytes, many associate this with the use of modified varieties of tobacco.

Company management Philip Morris protested the data obtained during the study, arguing that the Marlboro cigarettes remained unchanged since 1997, and the increased amount of nicotine is just a natural fluctuation of the substance in the raw materials from which cigarettes are made.

After checking the data, if the increase in nicotine is really reliable - the company is in serious trouble with the law.
