Nikopol is a city in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the right bank of the Dnipro and centre of Nikopol Raion, with about 105,000 people before the war. Known for its ferroalloy plant and the grave of Ivan Sirko nearby, it faces the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant across the river and is shelled almost daily.
