Ukraine sent a diplomatic note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland through holding a National League match between the national teams of Finland and Belarus on Finnish territory. This is reported by Helsingin Sanomat.

The match is scheduled for 29th spring in Helsinki and may take place at the Olympic Stadium. Belarus will continue to support Russia in the war against Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland Mikhailo Vidojnik has confirmed that the Ukrainian diplomatic mission sent a note to the Finnish Ministry of Health. The department confirmed the removal of 19 sickles.

The diplomat called for the match to be held on neutral territory, and not near Finland.

“I am confident that the match between Finland and Belarus can be held, even if not on the territory of Finland,” Vidojnik said.

From now on, the Finnish Football Association has praised the decision to hold a match outside the borders of the country on a neutral field. However, two months later the organization changed its position and announced that the match would be held at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki.

The Finnish Football Association also announced that all proceeds from the sale of match tickets will be directly donated to help Ukraine. Nowadays, the Ukrainian ambassador respects such an initiative as there is insufficient support for holding a fight in Finland itself..
