Feenoord officially voted on the recognition of Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the new head coach of the first team. The top defender of the Netherlands national team signed a contract for two seasons with an option to extend for another term.

For the Rotterdam club, this is the return of a well-known image: van Bronckhorst is a true legend of Fenoord.

As a gravel, he played for the team in 1993-1998 and 2007-2010, and also wore the captain's armband and won the Dutch Cup in 2008..

The club’s first coaching period from 2015 to 2019 was especially successful for him.. Todi Feenoord, under his leadership, won the Dutch championship in the 2016/17 season - the first title in nearly two decades, and also achieved a low number of national trophies.
