Romanov became the longest serving UPL referee for the 2025/26 season

The Ukrainian Premier League has appointed the best referee for the 2025/26 season. The winner of the vote, in which all clubs of the elite division took part, became Vitaly Romanov from Dnipro.

In the sub-bag rating, judged to be ahead of Mikola Balakin from the Kiev region and Lviv resident Oleksandr Shandor, who took the other place and the third place was consistent.



The fifth highest number of referees also included Roman Blavatsky from Lviv and Volodymyr Novokhatny from the Cherkasy region.

During the 2025/26 season, Romanov played in 12 matches of the Ukrainian Premier League. In one hour, he showed the players 34 total cards, one forfeit, and six penalties..

The recognition was the result of an assessment of the referee’s work by representatives of the UPL clubs, which determined the best refereeing judges for the season.
