Sports director Manchester City Chiki Begiristain expects a difficult confrontation with the Miner.
Manchester City, like a year ago, will play with Shakhtar in the same group. Also in the quartet will be Lyon and Hoffenheim.
"With Shakhtar it's never easy. We know Shakhtar and play with them again.. We had some problems when we tried to beat them at home last season. So we must remember how difficult it will be, "said Begiristain to the official site of Manchester City.
In the summer, the Miner left Fred, Facundo Ferreira and Bernard.
"Shakhtar has the ability to regenerate the composition. They sell well, but they also buy well. The miner buys talents, develops them and then sells them. He is good at this ".
Also Begiristain noted that it is especially necessary to beware of Hoffenheim.
