The younger brother of midfielder Juventus and Germany's Sami Khedira decided not to compete for the national team of Tunisia.
The father of football players by nationality is Tunisian, however Rani until 2013 represented youth and youth German teams in different age categories (Sami has played for an adult German national team for a long time).
Footballer explained the refusal to go to the World Cup.
"I informed the Football Federation of Tunisia that I will not accept their offer to represent the national team at the World Championships. I am very proud that they considered my candidacy, but I was born in Germany and speak only German, "says Rani Khedira Augsburg.
