Edgardo Baus led the national team of Saudi Arabia on football.
Saudi Arabia entered the 2018 World Cup. At the same time, the local federation was unable to agree on the extension of the contract with Bert van Marwijk, under whose leadership this success was obtained.
The new coach of the national team will be Edgardo Baus, according to the Twitter of the Football Federation of Saudi Arabia.
Baus only in May this year led the UAE. Under his leadership, the team played a draw with Thailand (1: 1), beat Saudi Arabia (2: 1) and lost to Iraq (0: 1). The coach was able to agree with the UAE Football Association on the termination of the contract on the mutual desire of the parties.
Saudi Arabia will play for the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
