Liverpool midfielder Sadio Manet commented on the annoying episode with goalkeeper Manchester City Ederson.
In a duel 4 rounds Premier League Manchester City defeated Liverpool 5-0 thanks to the removal of Manet.
Sadio got a red card in the end of the first half, when he went dangerously into the fight for the ball with goalkeeper Ederson and hit the goalkeeper with his foot in the face.
As a result, the goalkeeper left the field on a stretcher and was hospitalized, where he was stitched several times, while Manet himself claims that he had no intention of playing so roughly.
"I think next time I'll get to the ball before he", said Manet.
"I had no intention to injure the goalkeeper. It turned out very badly and I wish him a speedy recovery ".
"I did not want to hit him in the face, because I already apologized to Ederson. I'm not such a rude player. This is part of football and now I can not change anything ".
"When I saw the red card, I was surprised, because I thought that I would get a yellow. Now I must take everything and try to forget, "- summed up Sadio.
For his actions, Manet was disqualified for three bouts.
