This month in Egypt, Alexander Usik will enter the ring against Rico Verhoeven, and although the Ukrainian champion is considered the favorite of the fight, the organizers have already developed a backup plan in case Usik loses.

According to information from talkSPORT, the head of Saudi boxing Turki Al ash-Sheikh intends to discuss with Usyk the next fight against Kabayel if he is defeated by Verhoeven on May 23.

It is mentioned that Al ash-Sheikh is considering a possible clash between the Ukrainian and Kabayel to be held in Germany at the end of 2026. Earlier it was reported that Alexander should fight with Agit Kabayel as part of the defense of the WBC title.

In a previous interview, the heavyweight hegemon noted that he is not against a fight with the German boxer, but is more interested in meeting the winner of the confrontation between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois after the fight with Verhoeven.

It was also reported that Joshua's former opponent is considering the possibility of a fight with Usyk.
