The Ukrainian national hockey team U18 has successfully begun its performances at the Junior World Championship in Division IA, which is being held from April 18 to 24 in the Polish city of Krynica-Zdroj. The “yellow-blues” beat Slovenia in the first round – 4:2.

Our team was inferior during the meeting, but managed to turn the tide of the game and score the first points in the tournament.

The Slovenes opened the scoring in the middle of the first period, converting the majority thanks to a goal from Benhamin Topalovic.

In the 14th minute, Platon Isaev equalized the result, and in the 18th, Aleksei Tolkunov brought the Ukrainian team ahead. In the second period the opponent restored the balance.

In the middle of the third period, Ukraine again used the majority: Vladimir Naumenko scored the decisive goal. A few seconds before the final siren, Ukrainian hockey players scored again and set the final score.

After the first round, Ukraine scored 3 points and ranks second in the table. . The group winner will be promoted to the elite division.

On April 19, Ukraine will play against Hungary at the World Cup. Starts at 13:30 Kyiv time.
