The NY State Athletic Commission has reduced the disqualification of Ukrainian welterweight boxer Ivan Redkach for biting American Danny Garcia in a fight for the status of an official contender for the WBC title.

During the match, a Ukrainian in the 10th round bit an opponent on the shoulder.

The referee in the ring released the incident from sight, but after the fight it was decided to deprive Redkach of the opportunity to conduct fights for one year.

Now Ivan’s license is suspended for six months, not a year. Also, the Ukrainian will receive his fee for a duel with Garcia.

At the same time, the Ukrainian boxer to pay 10 thousand dollars fine.

Recall that Redkach held out against Garcia for all 12 rounds, but lost by unanimous decision - 110: 118, 111: 117, 111: 117. The defeat was the fifth for the Ukrainian in 30 fights on profiling.
