German authorities have announced a gradual relaxation of restrictions, but outdoor recreation will no longer be as carefree as before the epidemic. Pools should be open again in a few weeks.. The only question is how the virus behaves in water and how to avoid the danger while swimming?

According to hygiene expert Georg Christian Zinn, head of the Bioscentia Hygiene Center, swimming in the pool is not a problem because the virus is very poorly transmitted through water. Everything that enters the pool water is highly diluted, including viruses and bacteria.. And since the water in the pools is disinfected with chlorine, there is practically no risk of infection.
The Federal Environmental Agency is of the same opinion.. The hygiene specialist emphasizes that everything that happens outdoors while maintaining a distance poses a much lower risk of infection than, for example, the situation at the checkout or traveling by bus.
