Since the beginning of the year in the Sverdlovsk region, mites bitten 25911. This is 5% higher than the level of the same period in 2016 and 9% below the average multi-year level. Two people - a 70-year-old dry-headed and 68-year-old Ekaterinburg - died in hospital from tick-borne encephalitis.
According to the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Sverdlovsk region, at the moment in the treatment and prevention organizations of the region with a preliminary diagnosis of tick-borne encephalitis hospitalized 198 people. 39 of them were laboratory-confirmed. With the diagnosis of tick-borne ixodial borreliosis hospitalized 486, laboratory confirmed in 215 people.
The cases of sucking ticks are registered in 62 municipalities of the Sverdlovsk region. A significant excess of the average regional index for the number of attacks of ticks on a person is recorded by Asbestovsky, Reftinsky, Pyshminsky Talitsky, Achitsky urban districts, Baikalovsky and Slobodo-Turinsky municipal district, as well as in the Irbisk and Kamensk-Uralsky municipalities.
