International Cannes Festival opens on the Cote d'Azur of France. Journalists and industry professionals are waiting for a rich and diverse program - from the world premiere of a new part of the "Star Wars" to the films of Lars Von Trier and David Robert Mitchell.

For the first time since 2004, the festival will open the film not in French and not in English - "Everyone knows it" by Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, in which Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem starred.

The picture tells the story of Laura, who lives with her husband and children in Buenos Aires. When they return to their native village in Spain for a family holiday, unexpected events change the course of their lives. In the center of the plot, as always in Farhadi's films, are family ties, as well as the moral choice that the circumstances set before them.

Farhadi quickly declared himself as one of the most influential and internationally renowned Iranian filmmakers. In 2011, his "Divorce Nader and Simin" received the Golden Bear Berlinale and the Golden Globe, the Cesar Award and the "Oscar" for Best Foreign Film. Farhadi's last film "The Salesman" entered the official program of Cannes and won the prize for the best script. He also received an Oscar in the category "Best Foreign Language Film", but the director did not come after him to protest the new US migration policy.
