The Ministry of Health hung out portraits of its former leaders. And not a photo, but drawn. The artist is unknown, as is the amount spent on this work..

This was written in a post by a journalist of the publication " The post received a lot of views and caustic comments.. Someone tagged Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko. And after a few hours there were changes - the portraits were taken. But the sediment remains. But the way of thinking of the officials has not changed.

The practice of hanging portraits of its former leaders in ministries is not new.. This was, for example, in the Ministry of Social Policy. True, even before the war. Now the Ministry of Health’s attempt to preserve institutional memory in this way seems especially strange and even wild.. Such a “memory alley” of the former heads of the department, the vast majority of whom tried to completely destroy rather than develop the industry, looks more like a “corruption alley”.

Unless the portrait of Suprun could cause some pangs of conscience in the current minister. Although she irritated many, and made many mistakes, she was much more consistent and persistent on the path of reforms.. And what feelings should have evoked in the current head of the Ministry of Health, who was forced to pass by, for example, two portraits of Raisa Bogatyreva every day? Envy of \? Or, passing by the portrait of Maxim Stepanov, he would have to think that PR is not so hysterical and all-encompassing? Or rejoice that it turned out to be less useless than Alexander Kvitashvili, and caused not such a strong disappointment as Ilya Yemets? What is this all for?

Let us give advice to the Ministry of Health: photos would help to preserve institutional memory much more efficiently..

First of all, a photo of cancer patients, who are one of the most vulnerable categories during the war and for whom the state did not purchase the basic medicine on time this year due to an error by the Ministry of Health in calculating the needs. Moreover, even in a pharmacy for money from the pocket of patients it was impossible to buy this medicine for several months (which is critical for cancer).

Photo of the wounded, primarily the military, in need of rehabilitation, which the state at all levels loudly declares, but which is most often organized by volunteers, announcing a fundraiser on social networks.

Photo queue for MSEK (medical and social expert commission) - a procedure that, in the second year of a full-scale war, remains hell for those who receive a disability. And, unfortunately, we have much more of these today than before..

Photos of grief-stricken Ukrainians - adults and children, whose mental health in the ninth year of the war the Ministry of Health could not take care of systematically, placing it, as always, primarily on the shoulders of public organizations and volunteers.

Photos of people who unsuccessfully searched in pharmacies at the beginning of the war for their vital L-thyroxine and other medicines, since the healthcare system was not ready for the start of the war, despite the fact that international intelligence was shouting about this for about six months, and the Ministry of Health and the NSZU declared.

Photos of hospitals not prepared for war, which survived on their own as best they could. Photos of migrant doctors, regarding whom the state did not have and still does not have any policy.

A photo of an emaciated military doctor, which would remind that all over the world, perhaps the biggest risks of committing suicide exist for doctors because of the emotional burden and other “bonuses” of the profession.

And photos of fallen doctors and ambulance drivers; dead due to the war. Out of respect for them.

There can be many photos in this gallery. And they would be much more effective in helping each new head of the ministry to preserve institutional memory.. Because in this case, you need to remember not so much what happened, but how not to. And about what is extremely necessary, but has not been done, cured, saved.

To everyone who climbs the steps of the Ministry of Health, institutional memory should remind of unresolved problems. And about what was not done to solve them. About how not to. About what is needed. And how not to forget.

No, we do not want to say that the ministry is not doing anything.. But the situation shows that it's not doing enough. And in any case, friends, in these offices you are calmer, warmer and not as scared as at the front.. Not as painful and not as disturbing as in bed. Therefore, please remind yourself not of the past, but of the problems that people live and suffer from.. Problems that exist today and that will arise in the future. If you do not think about how to prevent their occurrence.
