Prime Minister Denys Shmigal believes that obtaining the status of a candidate member of the European Union will give Ukraine 6 advantages. He wrote about this on his Facebook page..

" Ukraine is Europe, and soon Ukraine will be a member of the European Union,"

The Prime Minister also called the benefits that the status of a candidate member of the EU should provide Ukraine with.. He believes that the candidacy gives legal consolidation of the European future of Ukraine.

"

Preparation for membership involves the transformation of all areas. In this Ukraine will be supported by the European Commission, providing the necessary consulting and other assistance..

Candidacy will make Ukraine a full member of EU programs and initiatives, open both to EU countries and with the status of a candidate for membership. Ukraine, as a candidate country, will have more opportunities to have its voice heard in shaping EU policies.

Shmihal also believes that after obtaining the status of a candidate and starting to move towards membership, Ukraine will become more attractive to investors.. The business climate will approach conditions like in the EU countries, where investors will operate in a predictable market, and business will be protected. Attractiveness to investors will also require security guarantees after the Russian invaders are defeated.

In the new status, Ukraine will have access to financial assistance for countries preparing to join the EU. Such assistance may be provided through grants, investments or as technical assistance..

According to the prime minister, by accumulating funds for the reconstruction of the country today through a special solidarity trust fund, the EU will treat such investments not as the post-war reconstruction of a third country, but as an investment in the welfare of a potential EU member.

As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the decision of the European Commission to recommend granting Ukraine the status of a candidate member of the EU and said that he was counting on a positive final decision next week.

Why did some members of the European Union try to slow down the issue of Ukraine obtaining the status of an EU candidate country and oppose it to the Western Balkans? Are we really competitors with six countries in this region? Read about it in the article by Volodymyr Tsybulnyk \?
