The Verkhovna Rada law on language quotas on Ukrainian television will not solve the main problem - national TV channels and production studios are still not interested in producing content in the state language. This "fantastic marasmus", when the films made in Russian films and programs fall under the Ukrainian quota.

Such an opinion on the air "The Observer. LIVE "was voiced by the activist of the public movement" Vіdіch "Sergei Osnach.

According to the law, he noted, the programs and films shot in Ukraine are not necessarily translated into Ukrainian.

"The situation remains when Ukrainian channels make films in Russian about Russia, for Russia and even for Russian actors," said the activist.

"At the meeting of the Goskino commission, we were often told by representatives of the channels in the eyes - there will be a law, we will shoot in Ukrainian, but for now the Ukrainian market gives us 30% of the profit," Osnach said..

According to him, the main income domestic producers receive in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. "They are absolutely not interested in filming (content) in the Ukrainian language," he added..

The activist stressed that the adopted draft provides for a one-week period to monitor the implementation of the law.

"This means that TV channels will be able to legally move Ukrainian content to non-weekly weekdays, and Russian-speaking - to show on the weekends, as they are now doing it," - explained the guest studio.

"During the first year of the law, the entire own product of TV channels, even the Russian-language one, will be included in the Ukrainian quota ... This is fantastic marasmus," he said..

Osnach also believes that the promised 75% of the Ukrainian language on TV will not be.

As reported by the "Observer", the parliament adopted a strict law on language quotas on Ukrainian radio.
